Margy, the diary manufacturer You’ve always wondered: How is my advertising diary made?

Find out in this article about all the stages in the production process.

Choice of raw materials

At Margy, as a printing company, we are concerned about the environmental impact that our activity can have on the planet. That’s why we decided to join the Imprim’Vert label, which is a certification and audit body that guarantees a production workflow that manages materials that can have a negative impact on the environment in a controlled and responsible way.

But we didn’t stop there. In fact, we obtained FSC certification, which is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation that aims to promote responsible forest management.

Thanks to the Imprim’Vert label and FSC certification, we are highlighting our commitment to having as little impact as possible on the environment.

Designing your diary

Key elements

This is where you come in, to personalise your advertising diary from A to Z.

First of all, you’ll need to choose the format of your promotional diary – daily, square, pocket or medium – depending on how it will be used.

Then define the type of cover, either imitation leather or four-colour process printing, which uses four basic colours (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) to reproduce all the other colours.

We also offer two types of laminating, which is a finishing operation carried out after printing your diary directly on the top and bottom surfaces. This process makes your diary more resistant to damage (tears, stains or humidity). At Margy we offer a glossy finish for a more luminous appearance or a matt finish for a more upmarket look.
For an extra touch of exclusivity, we can apply a selective varnish to highlight specific areas such as text, images or logos.
Finally, if you wish, the cover of the diary can be embossed in gold or silver.

The options

After choosing the key elements. You can move on to personalising the inside of your diary.
To begin with, choose the number of pages you want to personalise. This stage will be carried out at a later stage during an exchange by email or telephone.
You can also choose whether you want to include a world map. The corners of your diary can be square or rounded, metallic or not. It’s also possible to add a metal side bar to make it easier to open.
Finally, we can also fit an elastic band to prevent sheets from falling out.

Printing

Printing your personalised diary is an important stage in the manufacturing process. This is where your project becomes a unique, finished product.

All our custom diaries are offset printed. This method is based on the use of plates to transfer an image onto an offset cylinder and then print it on paper. Its special feature is the effect of the ink’s impregnation on the paper.

The advantage of this type of printing is that it offers very good value for money when you order large quantities of diaries.

Finishing

Printing doesn’t just mean transcribing the digital diary onto paper. We have to give it a layout that meets our quality criteria.

To do this, we use the binding technique best suited to a diary. We will assemble the cover of the book with all the pages.

Delivery

Once all the stages have been completed, we pack and prepare the boxes for dispatch to you as soon as possible
